Food Manufacturer Requiring Revenue Growth

In late 2007, Rento Associates was approached by an associate of one of its clients to help overcome a stagnant bottom line and inefficient manufacturing capacity to keep up with sales. After an initial investigative conversation we systematically worked together as a management team to accomplish the following:

By first analyzing the manufacturing operation, we were able to recognize inefficiencies in manufacturing and how to implement improvements. Simultaneously, we set out to solve the imminent challenge of insufficient storage created by anticipated increases in production. After successfully accomplishing our goals, we are now implementing a sales management program to grow sales to meet newly developed manufacturing capacities.

A management team was developed that understood a monthly operational P&L and the impact each one of their department had on its outcome. This team was taken to the next level by replacing their top line bonus package with bottom line P&L performance compensation. The average manager's bonus was increased by 20%. Management meetings now consist of a high level of P&L understanding, pertinent conversations relating to department challenges that affected others and P&L predictions based on established standards.

In an effort to open large chain retail sales opportunities, the company past a stringent plant and systems examination conducted by an outside auditing firm. The recommendation was to implement the necessary requirements over a three year period for a higher probability of approval at Bronze status. As a team we were able to achieve Silver status in 7 months and are currently preparing for a Gold status in 2010.

By working directly with suppliers from Canada to Mexico and understanding supplier's strengths and efficiencies, the company's Cost of Goods has been reduced by 5%. This number positively transferred to Net Profit.

This year's sales revenues are ahead of our forecasted revenue increase of 15% and the company is beginning to receive invitations to participate in RFP's for multi-million dollar contracts from large restaurant chains.

As a team, we are excited and confident in our new direction having examined and prepared the companies employees, management, manufacturing, QC, storage, suppliers and sales.
